I saw this being discussed in the general religion forum. i try to understand what other's believe (what makes them tick) for tolerance. i couldn't wrap my mind around the whole concept...UNTIL something was said in there

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

someone said ask and you will get it (in so many words)

it finally clicked in my head....they are speaking of prayers. God works in His time....but always answers prayers.

i know they call it Law of Attraction, but what they are saying is what Christians already know....PRAYER

what are your thoughts? Have I gotten the gist of it?

law of attraction = for as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.

The Law of Attraction claims to have roots in Quantum Physics. According to proponents of this law, thoughts have an energy which attracts whatever it is the person is thinking of. In order to control this energy to one's advantage, proponents state that people must practice four things:

1. Know exactly what you want.
2. Ask the universe for it.
3. Feel, behave and know as if the object of your desire is on its way.
4. Be open to receive it and let go of (the attachment to) the outcome.

Sounds like prayer to me. Every time I take a leap of faith for Jesus he catches me. As Jesus said, "Your faith has made you whole."

Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Praise his name.

Jesus is my auto crutch.

as far as these kin of "laws" - i don't know anything about them. I just know what I know....to me that sounds like another way of describing prayers. the difference is, prayers go to God and He deserves praise....not the universe

God is my whole world and universe. He can be small as a small voice or as large as the universe. He is just as big as I let him be in my life because he gives me the choice to serve him or not.

Yeah, I hear ya. I like to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and render unto God what is God's and with my spirituality I like to have God instead of a form of Godliness and deny the power thereof.

God is the universe...He is in everything!
