My child goes to bed around 8-8:30.

Is this a sleepover with her friend? When my child has sleepovers, they still have to go to bed but later...like 10:00. Then they talk quietly in the bedroom until the wee hours and they fall asleep.

There are those that can deal with kids and those that can not. I admire the ones that admit they can not.

There is nothing wrong with not having kids. I think it is great that some realize they do not want them. Truth of the matter is there are many out there with kids that have no right to have kids.

My children have blessed my life so much! I can't even fathom life without my 5 kids and all the incredible joys they have given me. And what investment in life is more valuable than in your children?

I feel sad you miss the innocence of beauty in kids just because your sister may annoy you.

Kids or no kids? Your choice, truly. For me, they've added a dimension to my life that is indescribable. Youngest is close to 18 now, and I love having adult children!
As per kids behavior? Has everything to do with the parents who are raising them.
However, if you think, even for a moment, you'd not have the tolerance for it, by all means, don't do it! Fear...you're young yet. You've got a lot of time. Wise of you to not just go around making babies you don't care to be responsible for!

OMG! Thank you! I get so sick & tired of the Moms who think that just because some of us decided not to breed lil screaming snot factories...that somehow we are less than a "complete woman"... If it's a "woman's choice" to abort her child...then it's also our choice not to get knocked up in the first place...

BTW...I've taken part of the raising of many kids in my life...it ain't a bad job to be "just the Aunt"...

I do agree with not having children if you don't see their value. My oldest daughter and her husband have decided not to have kids and I'm fine with that. More than fine.

Their love is with animals and I am glad they didn't think they had to appease society by having kids that would have ended up 'annoying' them.

I'm just saying kids in GENERAL are beautiful new innocence brought into the world and if we find them obnoxious it's usually, to some degree, how they were raised and the responsibility of those in charge over them.

My kids were raised with a lot of parameters in place to ensure they became well-behaved responsible ADDITIONS to society. That's OUR job as their parents, not THEIR job as kids. If that makes any sense.

Let me just say you lot are blowing this entirely out of proportion and adding in your own lines to the story. I never said I hated her, I don't hate her...yes, she may agitate me at times but that doesn't constitute hate. So please quit putting ****ing words into the lines that just aren't there...

I understand that kids are a beautiful addition to SOME peoples life. However there are several kids that just run the streets because parents CHOSE to have them when they don't make fit parents. I choose not to have kids for reasons of my own, some people know the reasons others do not...but it is my choice and I stand by it.

I just find it funny that I started this thread and managed to get not just one, but several people adding in their own twist on it. Not once did I say hate (yes I said swine and brat but not hate)...she isn't my biological sister and I think it goes a long way saying that regardless of the crap I have to put up with from her at times I do love her like she is family.

And I totally understand what you are saying babe. As I said in the other post you chose not to quote, I GET when someone doesn't want children, and think it a wise choice when they decide that. Absolutely no judgment on you for that Duane. You should know me bettr than that.

whoop there it is... When my son was 8 I realized I was not "father" material. I tried my very best at it and did what I could. BUT. I decided to get a vasectomy because ..If I can't be the parent to a kid , I shouldn't be bringing them into this world. Years later I learned how to be a parent.. to little to late....
