Everyone in my age group seems to be looking for the perfect person. Well that's not me. I have alot of good qualities. I'm not well off. I'm not tall. I am handsome. Atleast that's what they say. Why are so many people searching for a dream and not reality. Reality is this. Stop trying to mold a mate and you can have a successfull relationship. Most people can't live up to a majority of standards. So why can't we look in the heart rather than in our dreams. Me! I am looking for a person who can be realistic. I'm a knight, just not the one we're taught to want.

it seems to me that many people, after years of finding what they don't want, up their standards instead of changing their standards. it appears that younger women may have been content with the bad boy even if he didn't have a job or his own place, etc. as those women have gotten older they've grown to realize that they no longer desire the bad boy, and now they want a guy with his own place, a decent job, and decent money. add to that all of the other characteristics that each individual woman wants, and you have many women searching for Mr. Perfect in his blemish free armor, riding in on his white horse, leading a procession of gold filled wagons, coming to pick them up and take them to his castle that sits atop a hill overlooking his entire kingdom.
as for men, i don't know about anyone else, but i used to be content with just an attractive girl. it didn't matter if she was smart or even tempered or chaste. pretty was good enough for me. now, i want pretty and smart and even tempered and a fair amount of virtue. and if she has a job that pays well and can support me so that i don't have to work, that's awesome too.

Well I fall into this age group I have to disagree with you. I think most of us at this age know what we want and don't want in our lives. I don't think it has anything to do with Perfection I think it has to be with compatiblity. For example I know I am way past then age of casual sex if I was ever young enough I am not sure.
