Topic: Obedience | |

My boyfriend has recently stated that women should be silent and obey
the man, when in a relationship. We have been together for going on 8 months and have lived together four months of that time. This is a new attidude for him. He said it is written somewhere that this how things should be. Can anyone tell me where it is written and how to deal with this change in him???Beside just leaving?? |

my ex did the same thing once we got married and it caused constant
arguement till the divorce. I would tell him relationships are based on mutual respect and communication and that you are looking for an adult relationship not a father. If he persists in his attitude get out because it only gets worse. |

I couldn't, in good conscience, advise you in this, but to leave him.
Maybe it is written in some old scripture and he is interpreting it to his convenience. Maybe he has taken to reading or meeting with people of different believes. I suggest that you talk to him, and see where is he coming from, and how strongly he wants to enforce this. Now, you are not his wife, although living with him as a concubine. By not ascerting your rights as a proper wife, he cannot ascert his rights a a husband, thus, he cannot demand from you silence and blind obedience. In any case, it is for you to decide how you want to live. Maybe you can find the part were it says that he has to be faithful and honor his one and only woman, that respects and obeys him. See how he likes to go to work and come back home to worship a silent, obedient woman. And no friends, or boys night out. Just my very humble opinion. Wish you luck. |

Look up ancient marriage vows, you might find it there

according to the bible back in the day the man was the head and his wife
was to honor and obey him however that was of cource back in the day .. today .. we are consider equals pretty much and a relationship isnt about what you can gain or get its about what you can give |

Control issues. You're not a dog on a leash so don't let anyone treat
you that way. |
