who else is sick of hearing about those and the bad economy?? 
The AIG thing is actually nerve rending. Earmarks are nothing more than money specified for a certain thing. Like there is so much money in the stimulus earmarked for highway construction. So earmarks are not bad. Now if you want to say the amount of money earmarked for job creation is outrageous to you, that would be understandable. As for the economy, the experts state we are in for at the least another year of the bad economy and more if the stimulus wasn't enough money. |

the problem is it was our government that put everyone in this position in the first place. elliot spitzer was the guy who forced the other ceo out of AIG when it was doing well.. the former CEO a republican... who replaced him? a democrats. Watch cpan and see how the democrats said there was nothing wrong with fanny and freddy mac. HMmm ask yourselves.. who has the democrats ever really helped. the governmnet forced regulations on car makers to make vehicles americans dont even want.. we have this global marketing AKA global warming hoax you read up on the plans of socialist.. one of their ways of infiltrating is through environmentalist groups.. Their plan.. who wouldnt give up some of their freedoms to save the planet... a bunch of BS wouldnt hurt to really look into things instead of just watching and beliving the late night news Democrats did this??? Not from where I was watching, don't know where you were.

Unfortunately the employees of AIG have signed contracts guaranteeing them the bonuses.
Legally, whether AIG goes Bankrupt, (bad for the economy) or the government bails them out. The contracts must be fulfilled. There is nothing that will change that. If AIG is allowed to fail then you can expect things to get worse. As is, Bernanke is saying the economy is showing signs that it has nearly bottomed out. While we can expect Industries to still lose jobs for a little while, (untill the natural progression stops) he expects the economy to rebound around the beginning of the year! "If the banking situation is resolved." Allowing AIG to fail will not resolve what had began this mess to begin with! It will only reverse what little progress has been made! 5 Days straight the stock market has shown gains and all the Banks who received stimulus help back in Nov. are showing a Profit for the 1st quarter of this year. (who said let them fail?) Even GM is showing progress and has announced they wont be needing the loan for March that was destined for them. Hang in there and take care the best you can. We will recover! |

I would have been better had they brought all the top AIG guys in when this was in the works and stated that the government would not help if the these top guys were not willing to renegotiate their contracts. But of course Bush just let em have the money with no stipulations. |

That's exactly right. The first TARP bill drawn up by Bush and Paulson was to give the money away with no strings attached. No tracking how the funds were used. No squat!
Now they are finding out Millions and Millions went to Foreign Banks! |
