my son went into dialysis today and he came home and his suger level was way out of wak. so my mom gave him his novalog shot and i guess she didnt get him something to eat right away or something for his surgerlevel went way down where my mom couldnt get his sugerlevel up fast enough so they took him to the hospitol and i just talked to my sister and she said hes fine now.. they gave him some juice and glutose, and i talk to my son and he sounded good.. there not keeping him overnite(so thats good)
he had low blood sugers before. and it wasent hard to take care of. just this time was differnt

i found out from my sister that my mom gave him his dinner and within 30min after his sugerlevel that was way out of wak drop way down to 32. so thats why they took him to the hospitol for she didnt know what to do for normally he would eat. but in this case he did as where his suger drop so fast it was crazy/ the hospitol gave him more food, and yea im sure he was fine with that, as he loves to eat. but when your on dialysis you have to watch what you eat but in this case you dont

he does not have hypoglycemia.. hes a diabetic

As a technicality;

For people with diabetes, a blood glucose level below 70 mg/dl is considered hypoglycemia.

Once it hits 70 mg/dl, blood sugar levels can drop drastically. Diabetics develop a condition called Hypoglycemia Unawareness. They often don't realize the signs, or even when they develop symptoms that they are in trouble.

Less than 50 mg/dl is considered critical.

On the Ambulance, our Protocol was to give Glucose if capillary (metered) blood sugar was anything 80 mg/dl or less.

Your son's level at 32 mg/dl was way below critical.

(I suffer from "Fasting hypoglycemia" and had my level drop to 34 mg/dl... I swore no more, never again!noway

It is a terrible feeling... I now have to check my sugar 2X day, or if I feel faint/weak.)

thank you, im also a diabetic and when i dont feel good i check my suger more than once a day, i dont have low level that often.
he seem to be good this morn, but i told my sister to check his suger more through, and he has dialysis later today(for his reg run) for they had a issue with his arm on wed so they couldnt do the treatment so he went in yesterday(thrusday) and did it. we were also thinking that sense his schedule was messed up that could had been why his level was way ouf wak

I would imagine his schedule being messed up might cause his sugar to be low...

We'll keep you all in our Prayers.flowerforyou
