Posting a picture is an additional means of identifying yourself....either by showing your actual likeness or by showing a picture of someone or something that is non-you as a means of reflecting your personality.

Does that help? a little... but i mean the pictures that are of yourself but your hair, or cellphone, or camera, or hat is covering your face.... is that the "likeness" part you were talking about? in which case, doesn't it come off as though you think your face too unattractive to show? |

I am debating whether or not to put a regular pic up; I feel like I am protected somehow by the mask, esp- if I get wound up and post something off-colour. |

*edit - oops was typing fast Maybe looking for a point to ANY picture is missing the point. I mean, maybe they have a reason for posting whatever pic they put up -- like if it's a sign, or a cat, or a guy holding a fish, or someone pretending to be Michelle Trachtenberg. I figure there's a reason for whatever it is. I'm not particularly INTERESTED in the reason, in most cases, but I sort of assume they have one. |
