Does anybody know of any? Preferrably non hip-hop or country.

Here are a few I discovered recently....

The Birthday Massacre - gothy type alternative metal w/female vocals

Nightwish - Power metal w/alternating female/male vocals

Hammerfall - Kinda like a newer Iron Maiden

Ringside - Catchy poppy alternative rock

The Faint - I've actually been listening to these guys for a while. Catchy synth/alternative electronica

Apoptygma Berzerk - Also been listening to these guys for a while. Techno/Industrial

Cursive - Kinda hard to categorize these guys.

Rainbow Arabia, Health, The Toxic Avenger, Gang Gang Dance, Celebration, The Redneck Manifesto, The Knife, and Cut Copy should get you started.

Pylon and Curve are 2 of my faves that just never made it into mega-bigness, especially Curve, Toni Hallyday's voice is from heaven...smitten

80's band with pro skater Steve Caballero on guitar called Odd Man Out, I was just thinking abouut how much I miss listening to them and how I wish I still had a working copy of their album. There was also a band called Hollow Men and an album called "Cresta" I still have on tape, good stuff happy
