Yeah diary, other than that I had a fair weekend. Since I worked all last week and got off at 2 on saturday I just decided to stay with freinds that I haven't seen in 6 months that were pestering me to visit. It always feels wierd to be a guest in someone elses home. In exchange for the hospitality I agreed to cook for them which was tough because a few family members are on a low salt, no tomatoes, no acidic diet. I managed very well. I made 3 and a half gallons of beef stew. Marinated steak cubes in bicycle merlot for an hour on high heat in crock pot. Then added quartered portabello mushrooms, and schallots. Then onions. Then rubbed sage, dillweed, and a tenth of an ounce of chives. 2 tablespoons of cilantro. 3 pinches of fresh ground black pepper. Then I added 4 ounces of consomme. And 8 ounces of beefy mushroom soup. I let that stew for an hour on high heat. Then I added half pound of cubed new potatoes, half pound of baby carrots, half pound of diced celery and an 10th ounce minced onions. Without stirring and lid on and the meat stewing the crockpot acted as a steamer for another hour. At that time I added 10 ounces of water and 3 ounces of fresh minced garlic. I then started stirring the stew cooking on high for 2 more hours. After that the vegetables started to soften and was very delectable. Nummy. And the longer it stewed- the better it was. 3 and a half gallons fed 9 people comfortably all weekend. I also made specialty salads with all fresh veggies. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Dear diary.......I noticed my cat in the bathroom tonight. He went into my little garbage can by the toilet and picked out one of those strips from the maxi pads and took off with it.
This could be embarrassing on a potential date!!!

He also likes the plastic from cigarette packages.......you can imagine my days filled with chasing my cat full of strange paper and plastic products in his mouth!!!
