i think that the government shouldn't even have enough power to know whether or not i even have a gun!!!! still way too much government. every last one of m weapons is registerd . i have nothing to hide . i also have a ccp so the government knows i carry a concealed weapon . i do nothing illegal so i have nothing to hide . Was is illegal tomorrow isn't necesarily illegal today. First they make you register, then they tac on laws... No magazines over a certain size. Low capacity guns only, only alound a certain type of ammo, etc. Eventually semi automatics are illegal. Before you know it, handguns are illegal because they are too easy to conceal. Then when most guns are off the street, governments just make them illegal. It's how it goes. Over years. But that's still kinda besides the point. My point is if the government can't trust me with my guns why should i trust them with theirs? I do count my blessings though. The state of maine does not require you register your firearm, even with a concealed weapons permit. I don't plan i letting anyone know whether or not i still have firearms, because it's really none of their business. If a weapon is stolen i would report it, with serial numbers. That way if it's used in a crime they can keep track of it. Unfortunately if they requrie registration i won't be able to do that... ![]() |

there are reasons for the governement to track guns....to protect the good guys. Yes there are reasons. I see where people are coming from i really do. But the reasons for NOT tracking them stand greater in importance. They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither safety nor liberty. -Benjamin Franklin Although there isn't any more safety when exercising gun control. Funny thing is crime either stays the same, or rises. D.C. had toughest gun rules in the nation. Yet they pretty much carried the highest murder rate... Social Science is actually quite complex... |

yeah, but it's still none of their business. give an inch, they take a mile. it's got to start somewhere doesn't it? no because if my weapon is stolen i have registration with a cerial number to report it stolen just in case it is used in a crime . it's as much for your protection. Exactly! |
