Has anyone had a problem with thier boyfriend that snores REALLY BAD. My boyfriend snores so bad I cannot sleep in the same bed with him. We both have sleep apnea. Mine is being treated but he always comes up with excuses not to do anything about his problem. We have only been dating a few months and this is starting to become a problem. He sometimes feels hurt by me because I cannot take being kept awake by him all night, and I feel quilty for wanting to get a goods nights sleep.
What should I do? |

You have to have sleep to function and survive. Therefore, it's more important than his feelings being hurt or not. He needs to get his apnea under control or it can cause very bad problems in the future. I'd flat out tell him... you have to get this under control. I have to be able to sleep at night. You're putting your health at risk by not getting your apnea treated... so I made you a doctor's appointment to get it taken care of.

Lack of good sleep leads to all kinds of health problems from the serious like heart problems to the minor like obesity. It would be good for him to get analyzed and get a treatment for his health and well being and if you have to sleep in the other room until then well he will have to deal with it. Your health should be important to him too.

Get him a mouthpiece that's used for boxing. They're selling the same thing on tv for 50 bucks, but one for sports costs about 5 or 6. It will keep his airway open enuff to reduce or remove the noise.
