“Things we Seek”


It all started from the first day of our birth.
And will end when we are dust upon this earth.

As we take that first step learning to walk.
Soon to follow we find our voice to talk.

Endlessly we seem to roam.
As we learn all we can at home.

Soon as we grow older.
We venture out and become bolder.

It is knowledge we all begin to seek.
We learn that each person is unique.

We learn no matter where you go.
And no matter how many people you know.

Happiness is something that comes from within.
It is not something you can buy or win.

One can search the world and will still not find.
You see for happiness is a state of mind.

There is nothing on this earth or from above.
That can make one happy till they learn to love.

One must learn to open their mind and their heart.
Then true happiness will be able to start.

Everything in life must have a foundation.
How far it goes is only up to the imagination.

Those that learn to live life with and open mind.
The answers they seek within time they will find.

Some will realize the answers they seek were always there.
Deep within their heart but they were not even aware.

So you see at times the things that we seek.
Is within our hearts but we never took the time to peak.

Ya know I found this piece buried many pages back. I just read all the wonderful comments that I received and it made me remember why I've always felt at home within these walls here in the poetry section.

One can come in here and not only read and gain so much knowledge from those that write but gain many friendships as well.

I want you all to know even if I have failed to read your words and post my thoughts within your threads I have not forgotten any of you for each and everyone here has truly touched my heart more times then you will ever know.

I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart
