Ebay? Kind of a long story but is there a way to find out who a member is in "real life" or is it just as random as...say...mingle?
and while I'm at it are there any bored PIs who want to help me out??? |

You trying to meet people on eBay now? Weird.
Anywhoo- unless they put up some rather specific information about themselves, chances are that they're about as random as things are here on Mingle. Bored huh? Well... at least you aren't INCREDIBLY bored. |

Depends on the seriousness, you could always try and get the court to get Ebay to release that info...aside from that, you're spitting in the wind.

haha no not trying to meet anyone...well, maybe...that would be a hoot!
I was just wondering because a person has to receive payment somehow so there has to be a somewhat real person behind an active account right? |

Borderline against the law, but worth a try I suppose. Any website keeps the information about their user's very secure, usually outlined in the ToS (Terms of Service). Too be on the safe side take a good look at that with Ebay, I'm not familiar with it myself. |

Well, for a long time now I have been tracking someone who uses my pictures on multiple sites. Last night I searched for the name she uses and I found a cached page on myspace forums with a link to an ebay sale, the user name of the seller is too similar to other msn/myspace/aim screen names to ignore, the location is also 40 or so minutes from where she says she lives on those other sites.
I don't see how it would be illegal to cross my fingers for a return address. Even if I got the address, flew to where she lives and knocked on her door to ask WTH her problem was, what about that would be illegal? |

The money has to go somewhere, either through Paypal, or a credit-card, or through some other means. Whether you can actually find the other person is dependent on how much info the person in question gave you, as well as whether or not eBay is willing to allow such information to get out. Sounds to me like you got the shaft on an eBay deal, huh? The exact reason why I don't do the 'Bay- the chances of being the victim of some form of fraud is just too great. |

You're better off alerting eBay to the apparent identity theft (ie; the use of your pics in her profile and stuff), as well as any other sites she has used your pics in. Make THEM take action against the person in question. You might able to get your police department involved as well. All flying to her place of residence will do is cause problems that could potentially land you in jail. |

All flying to her place of residence will do is cause problems that could potentially land you in jail. the pictures aren't being used on ebay the user has no photo on their ebay profile they were used on myspace (among others) and the person using them posted a link to a sale on ebay the user name of the seller on ebay is too similar to other known screen names of the same person I know to be using my photos and the link to the ebay sale was posted by that person to me that equals one and the same to be clear, I don't intend to knock on her door I do, however, intend to find out who/where she is and send the police there problem is, they don't exactly care to look for her I have given them every bit of information I have on her it isn't a priority to them but it is to me so if I have to find her myself for anything to be done about it, I will. |

I tried 411.com and I've tried googling the phone number and name. They are international phone numbers, and reverse phone directories for that area are limited to discs which haven't been available more recently than 2006. Inaction is not an option, hence the post...thanks for the tip but do you know another way to search for an international number? |
