Topic: does anyone recognize this song?

Would anyone know who sings the song with a red mustang at the end of the driveway and the boy wishes for the car, then his father buys it for him, then the father dies. I think it's called the Car... or the red mustang...but apparently my buddy says it's not called The red mustang. It's a country song from the 90's I believe..and if you know who sings it too it would be great.

ummm...george straight sings a song about a car...but hen so does tim mcgraw.....then there is a song about an army guy who goes to war and then dies and his wife sells his car....private andrew somethin or another....LOL

I think it may be The Car by Jeff Carson......but I'm not sure
