Get so tired you can't sleep? I'm there right now. yawn surprised

What do you do?

I learned a relaxation technique that works wonders.

I'm afraid to ask laugh

Don't be. It isn't sexual in any way. Just a little trick I learned a few years ago that beats insomnia most of the time.
So what is it???????

Never had problems. I lay down, and within 5 minutes I'm knocked out. Neither it matter when I go to sleep, if I got nothing to do next day, I fall asleep at 3-4am and wake up at 10. If I go to sleep at 10pm, I wake up at 6-7am. Neither I have any dreams lately, it's weird.

you should read something

usually if i'm that tired i'm concentrating so hard on trying to get to sleep that my mind won't let me sleep.
it's better to distract your mind with something else.

if that doesn't work, i take benadryl. as long as i don't take it often, it knocks me out. but i only take a half dose.

Well, I ironed clothes and am halfway through a glass of wine. Now I'm off to read my clerk manuals and see if that will put me to sleep.

Thanks for your help!

There is really no big secret behind it. You gotta learn to clear your head from the daily troubles or whatever is on your mind. It takes a while for those who never even try it..but once you accept that you are in control of your own life and you do whatever you want and not fear, you'll be getting there.

Not that I ever had sleeping troubles for longer times, but I just like everyone else, there are things that can really mess with your mind and your nerves. Tragedy, brake up, worrying about the future etc.. Here is what I do when I really can't fall asleep: think of an empty piece of paper with your eyes closed and try writing on it all the things that are troubling you. It has to be a nice hand writing and it has to make sense. Fold to the next page if it's a lot and just keep writing with nice curly handwritings.

Well, after a glass of wine, ironing 10 shirts, and reading 168 pages out of 1700 from my county government handbook... I fell asleep.

Thanks everyone. yawn

Yep. It's called "I have to go to work or I don't get paid."

Yes. After about 48 hours without sleep, I can't sleep at all. Fortunately, I don't travel or stay away from home that long these days.
