It would be hypocritical to say "no" since I do smoke. Even when I did not smoke it wasn't an issue. Planning on joining the reformed smokers group again.

I have a question for all those who said they didn't want to "lick or kiss an ashtray": What is your basis for comparison? How many ashtrays have you licked or kissed?

Omg, that was just too good:laughing:   had me rollingrofl shshshh I'm and ex smoker quit 6 years ago this last Jan went cold turkey from 3 packs a day.

They say ex smokers are worst then anyone to be around if in fact one still smokes.whoa Hummm I will admit now no one smokes in my house or car. But I feel they will comply with that out of respect of my wishes.

But would I turn my back on another just because they smokewhoa slaphead hummm NOt and if they choose to smoke in their house or vehicle then all I ask if in a vehicle roll that window down some and have some ceiling fans on in the house to keep the air circulation going.

But since I was and ex smoker hummmm I resent being thought of as and ashtray I mean heck they do have breath mints and gum if they smoke hey grab yourself a breath mint and offer them one as well. lol Solves that problem

Most smokers have the courtesy of NOT smoking around non-smokers and use breath mints and gum to alleviate their habit of non-smokers. please get off your pompous stance and experience life already people!
Besides, if you are worthy, that person may consider breaking the habit and become more healthy.

THINK ABOUT IT FOR A MOMENT! frustrated

I don't think that people are necessarily grandiloquent in nature because they won't date a smoker.

I think it's more about lifestyle, the possibility their life will be cut short, and compatibility.

I won't address the stench in clothing, hair, etc. Breath mints are not that effective, but on a larger scale, smokers are not as athletic. I like dating someone that will take a 50 mile bike ride with me or compete in an adventure race, etc. I don't want to hear the hacking up of phlem either. I also want to know my parter is healthy and will be around for a long time.

No one is right or wrong; we are just different.

So if you're healthy as a horse, you won't get hit by a bus while crossing the street?

"Being around for a long time" is completely subjective, and totally not up to any of us when the button is pushed.

Oh good gawd, I am not saying something else can't take us out -- but at least avoid the things that are guaranteed to take us out. I'm not thinking that narrow mindedly.

Keep my answer in total concept. I addressed more than just life span.

Being a smoker is no more of a "guarantee of being taken out" any more than scrubbing out a toilet or washing clothes.
