Can you have a good relationship with someone who you know isn't in love with you? More than likely not, as you're just fooling yourself. |

No & that was my marriage

Can you have a good relationship with someone who you know isn't in love with you? Depends if you love them. I will never ever have another relationship with a man who loves me less then I love him. It's like giving them an open invitation to walk all over you. seems to work okay the other way around though. |

So a relationship based on just friendships,,,,won't work??
If love is not in there on either side? |

So a relationship based on just friendships,,,,won't work?? If love is not in there on either side? Well now, you didn't say that. Sure, a relationship based on friendship will work, but not if one person feels someting more than friendship. |

Every relationship is different. If its being friends only that is one possibility. FWB is also another one. There are a lot of variables within this question like was there previous commitment involved?
A commitment without love is usually called an arranged marriage. Some people think a marriage can exist without love. The reality of it is there can't be a "FAMILY" without love and marriage is not about family. Marriage is a contractual obligation. Family is above that. People have gotten married for reasons other than love like the Philippine Citizenship program. The one where Philippine women were paying to marry American men to get citizenship... There is also the teenage shotgun marriage alla religious parents since little Suzi was not making little Johnny wear a jacket while neckn' in the pale moonlight next to the crik. Also there is the the hard core Mormon arranged marriages. Just some classic examples of the Love of Marriage... Family are those who are there for you for real no matter what a scrap of paper says... Peace out! |

Maybe up until a certain point...but not a lasting relationship. Hanging on to someone who doesn't love you would just be hurtful. Better to find a person who can share your feelings, than to keep chasing someone who never will...

I think it depends as others have pointed out what type of relationship you are trying to make work. A romantic relationship- I don't think so.

Can you have a good relationship with someone who you know isn't in love with you? That would depend upon how you are defining a relationship and love. If you are speaking of a romantic relationship - unrequited love is one of the strongest forms of love. For there is always the hope...the desire the love will be returned. Is it healthy? Probably not. |

YES, as friends...why not?...
