Within Her Growls

He teases her unmercifully
Every single chance he gets.
Like a mischievous boy in grade school
Giving her
Eye-rolling fits!

Her look of disdain
Enhances his grin
As she growls her replies.
Deep laughter erupts from his mouth
At the sparks
Shooting from her eyes.

Flowers would be suspect
Be they physical or within words.
Her potential look of,
“Oh, WHAT did you do now?”
Frees him
From the floral bearing herd.

Within her responding growls,
He hears so much more than words.
Reading her more easily than a book,
Entranced within the thrust and parrying looks,
His delight escalates
By leaps and bounds to howls.
