I actually did email an older gentleman on here the other day because his profile was the best I have read in a long time, maybe the best ever. He responded in kind and was very gracious. It did give me hope that you can be nice to someone without them thinking you have other motives. Don't stop Jill......you might just make someones day with your words. |

apparently I don't know the rules If I'm at a bar and I ask a guy that looks bored as hell I might him to do a shot with us (my group I'm with) and apparently in "guy code" that must mean I want to sleep with him.  Or if I send someone an email complimenting them on something... then apparently I'm hitting on them.
One time I asked a guy in a bar to come join our group since he was standing alone the entire night ( I was there while my friends were playing in the band at the bar) and he looked me up and down and said "sorry, I'm just not looking for anything right now"  I mean seriously... I thought I said "hey come have a drink at the bar with us" apparently that translates to "when are we getting married?" in guy code
Some guys (in person or here) think that women talking to them means the woman is interested. Often, it's just the woman being friendly. I can totally see why women here don't reply to everyone who writes to them because some take a response to mean interest. Thank you for pointing that out. I never respond to those that do nothing but compliment on appearance. If it is something worth my time about something I have written, I usually respond. |

I see compliments on both sides of the story.....
Men do tend to think by givinig them a compliment it is leading to the gateway of getting laid and then you have those that just blush like women do or even take it straight to the end and then their egos are to big for the both of them..... but, hey, if you get a compliement take it with stride, say thank you, return the compliment and move along |

Oh...as well I made arrangements for our wedding in Vegas, we fly out there in two months time and will be wed in a Elvis impersonator's chapel.
