Topic: Got a question, friends | |
---|---|
I have had 3 men send me emails and i suspect that all 3 were potential
scammers. English was a bit off, wanted my yahoo address, etc. Has anyone else had this experience? Are there any honest, real guys left? I am new here and just would like to know what those of you who have been here for a while have to say. Thanks. |

I honestly wouldn't give anyone my yahoo address or any other address
until I have talked to them for a bit. Why do they really need it? I think there are some people that are scammers on here...but there are some really nice people on here also! Happy hunting |

Please be careful. I had a yahoo account with the same screenname that I
am using here for years. Had to deactive it due to scammers. They say they are from the USA but working in Africa. |

Had one last night from a woman asking the same thing.Talked to me on IM
for about 45 minutes and kept asking me to give her my address. I looked later, and she had deactivated her profile. OBVIOUSLY A SCAMMER. |

Never give out your personal e-mail right off, I agree probably
scammers, I have gotten them off and on, sounding broken English is a giveaway too. If they ask first to write them on Yahoo don't. I have written back that I won't give out my personal e-mail but will write over the site and they disappear. So always be cautious, you sound like you are smart. You are new here and will make friends, just takes time. Take care. Welcome to the site. |

I didn't know anything about this.
Will just giving them the address cause a problem or is talking to them bad? Not sure about "scammers". |

Talking to scammers can lead to serious problems if you give out
personal info. My experiences with these people have led me to watch out for guys whose english is a bit off, want your im handle right off the bat, want you to send money to them in nigeria, want help in obtaining money orders or help with bank transfers. For me, i get the impression they think that fat equals desperate and stupid! They are wrong of course about me but do manage to scam other women. You have to be cautious. |

hey right now i have 5000 dollars in hecks and moneyorders that a guy
working in africa sent me to cash for him after talking with him for months i was supposed to cash them and send him the cash by western union what he never realized was this i was putting a sting on him and the whole operation they had going on. see i do work in my spare time as an internet securty i can track down where they are relaying to me from then i send information to angency that is federal they then arest the ones dealing in this kind of money scam you would be surprized at how many times they turn out to be women posing as men and they say africa but they are auctuly working out of the states and have branches all over they are hard to catch be aware of this if anyone asks your for money wants your im or ip address or tells you they cant cash a check cause they are in another country first they try to lure you with the love game they are good let me tell ya they will work on you for months make you think you hung the moon for them all along they are setting you up for a 2500 dollar screwing and really they are pretty dumb but they think you are dumber |

I had different ones ask for money, told them sorry Im just a poor widow
woman, then the one didn't like my rejection, so he got into my yahoo buddy list, and sent all kinds of porn sites to people on my list. I lost one so call friend over all of that, and deactivated my name, and switched it so that my true friends knew that any ims, or emails were really from me. Wish I would of known about being able to turn their names over to someone, would love to have been a small part of catching the ones who like to destroy a great way to make friends around the world. |

It's sad when you can't just email someone to get to know them becouse
of all the scammers out there. This is why I don't even bother to email people out here. It's joke.I read some of the storys and WOW.Some are missed up. |
