Another thing to include Skyy is the differences in cultures. To the Indian nations if someone wasn't present at the treaty-signing they weren't controlled or inhibited by the treaty.

The Apaches were the world's greatest guerrilla warriors there's no doubt about that. Perhaps your intelligence angle could use that a little. The troopers' ignorance of the environment and terrain played a big part in the battles.

Lt. Bascom could be said to have started it all in Jaunary, 1861, when he held Cochise's relatives as hostages because some othe rApacheband had a ranch's mistress' son.

It was all over in 1872, but then the US renigged on (yet another) treaty, and that gave them Geronimo. So it went until 1886.

Or - The Raid on Son Tay. It practically writes itself. but where's the challenge, huh?

We have, haven't we - run out of other people's money? I suppose we could invade the House of Saud.

It was just a culture clash that started it all. Hundreds or thousands of smaller skirmishes and squabbles developing into a war. Their culture was nomadic and the biggest thief had the most respect. It was a warrior society and the newcomers didn't understand them at all. They didn't understand the settlers either - owning the land was a foreign concept to them.

Go with what ya know. It's for a grade not the challenge right?

Actually, it's for the challenge too. I had just decided to go with the Raid on Son Tay when a friend called me. He and Jake were just a few blocks down the street, so I packed it up and went to supper.
