My Sojourn

Hello my dear friends, I've missed you all greatly
So I stopped in to tell you of where I've been lately
I know I've been absent a year, maybe more
My travels have led me from West, to East shore

From the border up north, to the Gulf Coast down south
Crossed the Hudson, Potomac, seen the St Lawrence mouth
I've stood under sails of a centuries old whaler
Walked the streets that knew footsteps of pirates and sailors

I've driven in awe cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
On the Catskills I stared from a breathtaking ridge
I've stood on the grounds of the great Civil War
Walked where both Lee and Grant had stood once before

Viewed wonderful mansions, plantations of history
Seen wonders of nature with origins of mystery
I've stood on the spot of Revere's famous ride
Viewed Arlington Cemetery with sadness and pride

Played a proud Musketeer at a rennaisance faire
Met a grand walking tree, leaves and branches for hair
Sat in attendance of a great King and Queen
While Noble Knights and Wizards waged war on the scene

I've walk in the surf of both east and west oceans
The salt air like some aphrodesiac potion
Watched the Sun set on water, a storm roll to shore
Fierce beauty, like judgement, and yet wanted more

I've seen Plymouth Rock where Columbus laid claim
To a new land of freedom, uncharted, untamed
I've felt, seen and basked in this wonderous fare
Gave reckless abandon to worries and care

Today is a new day, snow and ice give me pause
But I still wear a smile and this is the cause
It gave me a time to reflect of dear friends
Who are always in thought till my lifes journey ends

Ahhhh I have missed you and your always wonderful words! It has been a truely amazing year! Wonder upon wonder, dreams to realities, time and space no longer in a vacuum. This soul is no longer limited to exsistence but has advanced to living and learning anew. My heart space grows larger every day as does your place in it.
