What is so taboo about marijuana? Why does it have to be illegal? And even so, why are people so judgmental about people who do it. Most of the people who are, are alcoholics who could get a dui and kill people. -(and yes i realize this statement is a generalization against people who dislike pot smokers) You can't overdose on pot, well you can but its near impossible you'd have to smoke like 1,000 some joints a day, which isnt even possible. Alcohol you can.

I just hate the stereotype that comes with smoking pot. I smoke, and I got a 3.8 in high school and a 3.8 in college, and I'll have my bachelor's in June. It's not like I live in my mom's basement and play W.O.W. all day.

If you don't like it- that's fine, but theres no reason for people who don't like to assume the people who do use it, are worthless dumbasses.

Well I get the same thing with my smoking (cigarettes) Sometimes when I'm out in public smoking people walk by and cough or give me dirty looks some poeple won't date me because I smoke. So just cause YOU smoke pot and I smoke cigarettes does not mean that you a loser it is just something you do as a habit

I don't use drugs, but I do not want to ban any drugs either.

The reason that drugs are banned, including marijuana, is that a cartel that is dealing it, can only survive by raising a barrier to entry into their business. Otherwise, everybody will be competing with them, driving prices down. Remember, criminals aren't exactly rocket scientists. It is way too simple, to grow the marijuana and to create the final product. A lot of potential competition.

So, they want to raise the barrier to entry. This is no different than dentist lobbying the government to create a license requirement, so that it is not so easy to become one. This keeps the pay higher.

Thus, the drug cartel applies to the government to outlaw their product. The prices skyrocket, and they now have a demand, because only the outlaws can peddle the outlawed goods (significantly restricted potential supply). They have successfully removed all legal competition.

The government is there to make money, by limiting people's freedoms. They use the stupidity of the people, to achieve their goals. All they need to ban marijuana and make nice money from cartels is to bring this issue to a bunch of women and they have guaranteed the ban. Women, while being beautiful and lovely humans, usually lack reason. They "think" by examining their emotions. Great for family and love, bad for logic and sense.

This is why, by the way, we have the universal suffrage. It would be much harder to pass along draconian measures designed to enrich someone on someone else's account if we didn't have the universal suffrage.

I am not saying people weren't an easy pray for legislators before the universal suffrage, but they have definitely become an even easier pray since.


I realize this all sounds like bigoted conspiracy theory to you. You have asked, meaning you wanted to know. It is up to you, whether you want to do just that or keep believing in Santa.

you sound like a more responsible person....and an intelligent one as well...i do not DISLIKE anyone that smokes weed, and i have had many friends do it

BUT i do not agree with smoking weed, this is just my opinion, because i have seen too many lives ended or ruined because of weed

i dont know why they dont realize the soil benefits growing marijuana does for the ground. in fact i think it was required at a time to grow pot in virginia to add nutrients to the soil every 3rd cycle

Usually the drug of choice for suicide is Heroin, Alcohol, or pills.
The drugs that make people flip out and kill people are PCP, Meth, Alcohol, and Cocaine.

People badly abuse Pharmaceuticals and the last three presidents were also Blow fiends!

The whole pot issue is a failure like Prohibition in the 1930s. Also keeping it illegal justifies the existence of some of the government programs that don't work or departments that do anything at all.

No problem with the legalization of pot. However I personally still wouldn't use. Especially after reading latest study regarding link between pot use and testicular cancer.
