Remember the "Green Mile", Tom Hanks got tired of burying all of the ones he loved. It would be hard to outlive everyone you loved. Knowing you would see their death regardless. I don't think I would want it. I enjoy life alot but I would run out of enjoyment at some time I think. |

yes....in a few years i will be retiring...imagine getting paid forever & not having to work....I could travel around the world, stay wherever I wanted & for however long I wanted.....I could experience freedom in a way I could only dream of now....

The problem with immortality of this nature is you will eventually outlast the very planet you live on. This ball of rock will eventually become uninhabitable by humans simply by the earth slowly moving away from the sun. The rest of the race would die off and you would be left alone for all eternity.
I would probably be down with a 500 to 1000 year lifespan though. There would be difficulties associated with being so long-lived, like losing all your loved ones ten-times over, but I think I could deal. |
