I was going to comment but I pourd another glass of scotch instead. ![]() KerryO I think herding cats is easier. . . |

So...what you are implying is.... some chimps evolved ..... and some chimps didn't... since we still see chimps around today. Is that it? ![]() We are not evolved chimps. Chimps are just as evolved as we are. It is not a ladder, it is a tree. Chimps are on a different twig, we are on the same branch. |

Actually, evolution has slowed in humans in recent years (recent meaning the last 100,000 years or so) where as chimps' evolutionary clock is racing. they are now evolving much faster than we are!!! I can back this up, or you can just google it! OR you can post more "facts" from the Bible as to why I'm wrong!

![]() Beware Christians. They are evolving faster than we are! |
|
|
|
LMAO!!!!
![]() But it IS true. I mean, we totally adapted to our environment... and now thanks to advances in modern medicine we even live longer. So now, we have started to make our sorroundings adapt to us!!! But, it's sad to think that chimps and gorillas won't be around much longer to do any more evolving, thanks to their distant cousins, humans! |

Right. The poaching is out of control. I think there are some efforts made to stop that but poor people hunt down wild chimps and gorillas in Africa to make a few bucks to feed their families. They also steal the infants to be sold. I read that gorillas are found murdered with only their hands cut off. They use their hands to make ash trays.

You sir are correct, for more then one reason. 1) yes we change our environment. 2) We form society's which take care of the least survival suited of us, and that allows them to reproduce which would not have happened outside of this societal safety blanket. However there are other ways evolution works, we are learning new things every day. I am studying Evo Devo right now, HOW exciting! ____________________ Edit: Love Jane Goodall. Jane Goodall was brave. I find chimps and gorillas to be fascinating to watch BEHIND a protective structure. No way would I get that close and she was letting them touch her hair and stuff. That’s pretty amazing. Chimps actually frighten me more than gorillas. They seem much more prone to temper tantrums that can erupt without warning. Just like humans.

That's probably a real photo. I hear they LOVE to smoke and they get addicted just like humans. That IS a real photo, yes. I saw an old footage (from the 70's I think) of a chimp who was taught to bartend! He'd pour you a shot of whiskey and then have one himself. Of course, he smoked too. The video was on one of those "that's amazing" shows... I don't think they'd show anything like that nowadays, as it would be considered cruelty to animals. I also have a stoner friend whose two cats just LOVE to get high. As soon as they hear the flick of the lighter, no matter where they are, they run towards us.... er.... I mean him, wanting to get that contact high! |

Yes animals love chemical stimulants just like people. Even wild animals. In PA just recently the birds were flopping around drunk on the sidewalks and unable to fly because they had been eating some kind of fermented berry.
