If they tell you that they don't take looks into the equation at all...they're being less than truthful. It works that way for everyone. Men and Women alike. There HAS to be some level of physical attraction, even if others can't SEE it. The attraction may not be as physical as you might think. It could be something as subtle as the way someone looks at you or smiles at you or the way their eyes crinkle when they laugh. The eyes and smile may be the only physical attraction needed. But that goes right back to what I stated, Winx. There has to be some attraction, no matter how small it may be ( hair, eyes, smile ) for the interest to be there. I know that there are millions of people out there who think they are different and don't do it. But they DO. The only people who cannot base anything on a physical attraction ( ie hair, eyes, face etc ) would be blind people. Okay...got it..that's what you meant by "level of attraction". I'm going in that direction too then. But..when someone looks at you a certain way -- that can make them look good in your eyes. That makes them attractive to you and it doesn't mean that they have to be a Ken or Barbie doll. Not at all. It's all in what you perceive as ' attractive '. But you still have to BE attracted. |

i understand that women want to be taken seriously for who they are and not just how they look.
i don't have a problem with that. i do find it funny though that there are many women who say this and they are the same women who run around with their breasts hanging out. they know we're going to look and fixate. if they want to be taken seriously and want a guy to like them for their personality, why distract us with their boobs? |

From what I am told even people who are blind from birth have some cognitive ideas of appearances and have preferences. Size, weight, height ect. that create a mental image that they want.
What is important about this exchange is that it seems to be more important for your opinion to be considered "right" and her opinion "wrong". And that she "Insists" that her opinion is "right" and yours is "wrong" maybe even "morally corrupt" since attraction on appearance is seen as physical versus mental. Two "Right Fighter's" are pretty much guaranteed to have a stressful relationship. |

i agree that it's not right to judge someone solely on their looks, but to believe that you can be completely impartial with regards to appearance is naive.
