“The Way It Is”

We wait for the world to change.
Is that kind of strange?
At times we look at things we see.
And figure that it’s just how they are to be.

But is it not a fact.
That is just how we react.
We always just assume.
That things will go the way we presume.

Rivers are supposed to run down stream.
And when we sleep that is when we dream.
Does it ever make you wonder?
Lighting strikes but we hear the thunder.

Why is it not the other way around?
Would that be too profound?
Is it against nature or just the way it should be?
In life is there really a guarantee?

Those things will always be the same.
And no matter what one may claim.
There are things in this world that will remain.
And some things we can not even explain.

As we sit back and wait for the world to change.
Could it be that things within nature are prearranged?
And it is a fact.
That nothing we do will have and impact.

On what will happen each day.
You see it was meant to happen this way.
Regardless what one may think?
Everything will fall into sync.

wriggling among the worms happily squirming towards the open lid of can and thinking the "sync" has always been present, our perceptions just need to broaden to realize it and join in rather than fight or control what is.
