LexFonteyne,
Thank you Bro. In the business that I am in we constantly have to reinvent ourselves, and our products. Many times the old school has to learn to take the back seat, or become innovators again, or they are set out to pasture. Let me give you a resent example. I am presently doing a review on a piece of new technology equip that cost 29 dollars. This equipment replaces it's predecessor that cost around 8000 dolors. At first the industry was in an up roar over our findings. Many people refused to listen to the new piece saying it can't be so. Slowly , but surely the tide has turned and the 8000 dollar piece has become a dinosaur. We live in an ever changing world. That should be what makes life exciting, if not we become negative people would can do nothing more than throw stones. Forums must keep up with the times or they will turn into gossip columns and all will leave in time. I think what you have written is not only the truth, but it is what makes us new people desire to be apart of what you have started. JSH has been made great, because of people like you. JSH vederians, just remember how much we newbies look up to you, and want to prove ourselves worthy of being apart of one of truly positive forums that exist. thank you |

MG -- Thank you. I see it as a sort of Darwinian thing -- change is
mandatory, "adapt or die" is the philosophy. Every time someone joins or leaves a newsgroup, there is a subtle shift in the terrain. And that's how it should be. Stagnation is not desirable except for the few with entitlement attitudes, the ones who say, "This is MY group, it has to stay the way I like it!" But if a site like JSH is to grow, and increase in value and utility to its members, then change is a must. The site cannot exist solely as a vehicle to serve one person, or a small clique. For it to be of any worth at all, it must exist to serve everyone who uses it. Some people need to pull theur heads out of the sand and wake up to the fact that JSH isn't THEIR group or MY group -- it's OUR group, and OUR includes a whole bunch of people who haven't even joined yet. |

I have nothing to prove mg!
I can only be me...... The good bad and the ugly We are not labes we are human beans" just a thought! |

Well put Lex, as always. We all need to go with the flow. Water wears
a rock down in time. A constant law of change. |

Thank you, Sage. I think the thing we all need to remember is that it
makes very little sense to jump out of the boat, just because the tide has pushed it a degree or two in an unfamiliar direction. Just enjoy the ride; as long as the boat is still moving forward, the trip may well be worth the subtle detours. |

Everyone is an Individual everyone handles things differently.
How one person copes, may not be how another copes. |

Thank you LexFonteyne... Once again, a great post, another warm welcome
for us newcomers. I am still "new" to the site, in terms of having joined more recently than others. I am new as well, to the world of internet friendship/dating... I have found many wonderful friends, a lot of interesting characters that, even though I cannot call my friends, have my respect, because they are people of integrity and opinions. Most early members have been most accomodating to the more recent joiners. But now, we are all in the same cathegory: MEMBERS. It's been more than 2 weeks since the massive exodus. We were requested to stop talking about the unmentionable site, and most have complied. I concur very much with the posts about change. The only sure thing in life, besides dying, is change. Everything changes constantly, nothing stays still, everything is ever changing. If it wasn't us coming in here, something else would have changed this site eventually, for better or for worse. Personally, I think that most of the new comers are respectful, opinionated, intelligent and corteous. And for the most part we have met with the same; as in any large group, there are the odd rude ones, obnoxious, embarrasing ones, that thrive on making others life impossible, and embarras their own and make fools out of themselves. I, for one, like the site, and the people here. The people in my "friends" page is mostly those that came with me, for obvious reasons, but several of the early settlers of this site have requested my friendship. And that's why I am here for. To make new friends, to learn, to express myself. |

Lex,
I was considering leaving this site as the welcome has been less than welcoming by some but then I realized I would miss out on people like you and the many other great people that grace this place. I have chosen not to let the few and you know who you are to run me off. It amazes me how the one most constant thing in the universe which is CHANGE adversely effects so many people in a negative way. The ability to adapt, except and find peace with change is what makes us a great person To fight change is to fight the natural order of the entire universe. A fight I learned a long time was a fight that would make me a miserable person because it is a losing battle at best. We are all on this journey together to find someone, rather it be find a friend or a lover were in it together and that brings me to a simple question. How do you meet and find new friends or hopefully the love of your life if you don’t meet new people??????????? I DON'T GET IT Thanks Lex for your kind and wise words…….I hope I get to know you better My .02 Peace all |

iRon -- I'm glad you decided to stick around. You are exactly the kind
of person this site needs -- insightful, thoughtful, and well-spoken -- in order to continue to grow. Change is so fundamental, so necessary -- so inevitable -- I hope to change a little bit every day, even if it's only to the extent of learning one new thing, or meeting one new person. You made the right choice! |

Here's something that remains consistant regardless.....disgruntled
JSH'ers who leave and then return w/ a new profile or who post with multiple profiles......It is happening RIGHT NOW. Guess change is sometimes more consistent than anyone realizes....... |
