Topic: do these online dating sites ever work | |
---|---|
They work if you work at them! Nothing comes easy! The forums are great here and you meet some pretty amazing people! I know a few from this site that have gotten married and a few that have had dates from H*LL but then again I found my love here! You have to want it to work and be willing to work at it too!! Good Luck!

Geez, I do well with it, I'm averaging 3 dates a week from it & I spend most of my morning replying to all the emails I get from it. I can't complain

And I know a bunch of people who've either sworn off (or are about to swear off) online dating.
Online dating is nothing more than Myspace for anyone over 20 years of age. |

It still doesn't mean dating sites work. Tell that to the married people. I know people that met online and got married. Oh yeah, I've met a man online...married him...also divorced him. Whether these sites work or not truly remains to be seen. |

At least you know that you're not fooled by bots here - and we all seem to able to:
a) handle a PC b) make funny comments c) read and write d) .... Sure it works! Keep your expectations low and be prepared for surprises. That's how it works usually. Here and outside. Cheers |

I haven't had even an inkling of anyone wanting to actually physically meet from this site. This site seems to exist to provide a forum for venting, a place for silly little games involving the other person's picture (Would you do so and so?) but it's harmless fun. Your chances are better than being struck by lightning, but not a whole lot better.

"Tell that to the people that I know that met online and married."
There are a handful of people that have survived skydiving accidents where their chutes don't open, but I wouldn't recommend jumping out of a plane. |

You have to look at it as a ratio of people on these sites and people in 'real' life.
Look at all the normal dating scenes and how many of those relationships do work and then compare it to the amount on here. I am sure there are more relationships that don't work out IRL than dating sites, but just because the community on here is smaller you hear about more bad choices. Don't just look at the people who say they are together and have never even set eyes on one another, face to face. (That's kinda like saying you are together with Paris Hilton then meeting her and finding out what a flake she really is) In going out and meeting people for dates, I only had a few long term relationships. I met a wonderful man on here and am now engaged to him. It is a long distance relationship right now because of my job. But we are planning on changing that soon enough. So in my case, it does work............................yes moof, we know it didn't work for you! |
