Dry humor makes me moist...

Humor is a very delicate thing. If you know and trust someone you probably get their attempts at humor more than when you are just going through that phase of what are they trying to tell me in the early interest thing of meeting and selection.

Getting humor to translate over the net or even the telephone is very difficult. Even when it is not meant that way it can come off as mean spirited, hyper critical, snobbish, or bigoted. It is like trying to read a cartoon out of the paper to another person. It just doesn't have the same punch as seeing it.

I don't think it's a matter of low IQ or not understanding it. It's just that with dry humor, unless you know someone very well, it's difficult to tell when it's "dry" or when they're being serious.

It's a combination of both Suz. Some do not know where you are coming from and others do not understand.
