bored staying at home? bored not working? hell if i could afford it, i'd never work again. i'd find lots to do: monday - pedicure, lunch with friends tuesday - gym, lunch, massage wednesday - shopping, shopping, shopping thursday - gym, lunch, shop some more friday - hair appointment, dinner lmao .. I hear ya sweets. That's what I used to say. But I guess I need a cause. I can't afford the gym anymore .. and no $$ to shop with sweets. It's called pulling in the belt .. hello!!!

babe.. i helped write the book on your pain.. ive been out of work since july. now i have a 2 day a week part time job that is just not cuttin it.. at least you got a severence.. that helps with the bills.. most of the rest of us didnt, so we look and look for work, dont find anything, and try to figure out wether we pay electric or water or rent this month.. cuz we can only afford one of the 3. 
Yes I am very blessed. I got severence, they paid my cobra for 3 mos and I am now on unemployment. I feel I was totally disconnected from reality and now realize how hard it is for many people. It's a good thing .. and I'm not really complaining just kinda talkin aloud. About how good I had it and we never realize it til it's gone. |

I hear ya, I've been out of work since October and I'm going absolutely baty. I've got a good lead on a job with the city, but the hiring process is so slow. The position closed 2 weeks ago and they are still reviewing applications.

Yes well the economy made me more needed since I work as a Social Worker in health and benefits. We are seeing an influx of people that haven't ever recieved benefits in their life. I hope all of you find something in your area or at least a vacation spot to explore during your hiatus. Seriously, good luck to all of you. 
isn't THAT the truth.. actually we don't have an unemployment office in CO but the phone lines are hundreds backed up in que the minute the lines are open in the mornings. INSANE!! |

hey Fade, I too would be going insane. Good luck in job search! Thanks Fran .. I have a couple I've applied for that are very exciting to me. American Cancer Society and St. Judes children's .. especially the children's one. To produce events to fundraise. I could really get into that. |

oh boy do I feel your pain... And I look around here and think its no different for a lot of people now... But fate was kind to me , I have a source of income and can kick back and let all this economic trouble pass. Oh and fot the lady abiout watching kids? even thats begining to pose problems for day care providers.. with families out of work they donn't need that service anymore .. It trickles down you know. very true .. I did a thread about Circuit City laying off 30k employees when they close their doors. why? Cuz the public are not spending - we are all trying to learn to live below our means so spending is curtailed. Outcome? retailers close their doors. *sigh* whatcha gonna do ??

I count myself blessed then...I have two jobs. I am constantly busy and am looking for time to do things just for myself. So to all of you out there looking for work best of luck to you all.
