You were from Iraq, and not the U.S.A., how would you view the world ?

I was asked this at a toastmasters meeting yesterday and had to give a 3 minute speach on it.

I'll post my response after others do.

I would probably feel.....differently as I would have grown up in an entirely different culture/government.

Those that are educated tend (not in every case) have a more liberal view of the world. If you are educated, you can see the good and bad in everyone and everything. You should be more able to see different perspectives. Those that are uneducated, tend to follow the views and perspectives that are immediately around them. Not to say that these individuals are not intelligent. They just have not been exposed to the things that an educated person general has been.

I was born and raised in the middle-east, I know how Iraqis think so to speak, the world is a crazy place, because each culture holds its values and traditions, whoever as far their view of other governments and military powers, that's a completely different topic!

Even people that grew up in the middle east vary widely in their own opinions about the rest of the world. I honestly just can't say how I would feel in a situation I have never been in.

If I gre up in Iraq I'd be thankful and angry at the USA because of the events that took place.

Happy because of them we are working toward democracy. This would never have been possible without the aide of the US military.

I would be mad because of all the destruction.

I went more in detail but if I did here would take alot of space.

What if you're one of the people that isn't for democracy? Many people don't want it and are pissed we're shoving it down their throats.
