it's been a really long time since i posted, probably a year and a half. many thoughts have been stirring and i need to get them out. this poem is about how i've feeling lately:


Definition. Meaning. Everything. D.M.E

Clichés are wasted, faded.
Cremated on bated breath.
Life is precious, rare.
Imitation of imitations can’t compare.
A mockery, a theft.
What is real?

Defining everything, purpose and meaning.
A beating heart, passion, bursting.
Stimulated, permeated by love’s first gaze.
Potential and possibility at every corner, lurking.
Some things stay and some things change.
A thousand worlds collding in the mind.
Notions of matter and time.
All up on display.

My life is an imitation.
I need to hold my breath.
Release the evocation.
Rid the emptiness.
All an illusion, I don’t feel alive.
Light all the cylinders, the fire inside.

Recalibrate, negotiate the meaning.
Paradoxes, unnerving, what is absolute?
Vision without seeing.
A trivial pursuit.
