whatever you do...DON'T GO TO A COMMUNITY COLLEGE...they are just high schools with ash trays...the instructors are,for the most part, people who couldn't teach at a 4 year school and in the end it is a waste of 2 years of your life...be seeing you Not always! Some individuals need to go to community college for a year or two to get up to speed. I have see many individuals that shouldn't of been admitted to a 4 year college/university, but should have spent some time at community college. Each community college is different. There is a community college in the county next too me that is excellent!! They are almost on par with some four year colleges. And provide more assistance to their students than some 4 year colleges/universities. On the other hand, the community college in my county is like a high school with ashtrays. I know quite a few instructors that not only teach at a 4 year but also at community college. Yes, there are instructors that don't instruct, but that happens at 4 year institutions too! Just don't choose your professors b/c they were 'easier' or were an 'easy A'. You will not learn. Take the professors that are fair and will challenge you and are willing to answer your questions. |

The foundation of knowledge and learning are based on hard and consistent work. As you heard before Tanya an easy come an easy go.
A man came to Socrates and ask him plainly that I want to learn. Socrates took him to the pond and dip him in it, including his mouth and hold him in tight until a man started yelling and asking for help. Socrates pulled him back and ask, what you need now? He said air, air. Socrates smiled and told him to come back when a real desire start of learning and burning in you. |

OK Tanya, I have an Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelors in Healthcare Management. I am thinking about a Masters in ????? An online college is preferred. I have heard good things about Phoneix online, they also have class meetings, some courses are not completely online. I know in your area you are limited for college/universities. I say just do your research. Is a master's degree really going to advance your career? Or be able to transition more easily into another field? I know that Public Health is big right now! There is mass amounts to funds being flooded into public health and gerotology! If you stay in health, you might want to contact the hospital up there and some in the lower to determine what types of positions are really in need. Good Luck! |

St. Louis has an excellent community college. It's a good place to complete your general requirements before attending a University. It saves people money. Also, some degrees can only be obtained at a two year college i.e. dental hygienist and EMT. |

there is an old saying,"Those that can do,those that can't teach." be seeing you Yes, there are some individuals that choice to go into teaching because they do better explaining. However, there are those that gain experience in the field and then go into teaching. |

You have to plan ahead with any institution, even if you think you will not transfer, you should still check into it.

An excellent advice, that's way asking is important
