Believe it or not, it's an actual dish in the UK. Dunno what it entails, though as I've never had it.

i know, it's a pudding made out of fruit but still the name alone is wrong
and on the whole except for their tea and crumpets the rest of british food...just sucks

Yeah. It's a main reason why there's such a "foodie" resurgence out there nowadays- you got these chefs who're doing away with "traditional" Brit food and are doing the whole Gordon Ramsay thing. Some are even worried that the traditional UK food'll go extinct thanks to dudes like Ramsay coming up with real food.
