I am having a cup of coffee before I go grocery shopping. I just wanted to say to July, "Thank you for choosing your profession. You must have known or had an idea what you wanted to do or if you kind of 'fell into it', then God must have known he chose the right person to get the job done with kndness and compassion."

Seems that some of the best ladies are nurses or teachers. Guess back when we went to school, those were the best jobs available.

Graduating from high school in the 60's left women with fewer choices than today, but I bet more went into those decisions than that. I wanted to be a nurse ever since I was 5 years old, had to have an appendectomy, and this vision in white made me feel like I was the most loved, safest little girl in the world. These  are for her.

Linda, you sound like a great mother & housewife.
Those are 2 tasks that are just as admirable. Lots of really great ladies out there, that are never appreciated properly. To ALL the ladies.

I am a nurse  but I am retired from 17 years of psychatric nursing and 20 years of maternity nursing before that.

Psychiatric nursing???? No wonder you can put up with a guy that likes to own a truck. Just kidding, but I come from a "transportation" family business & then I went into it also. The guy also has an extensive hobby restoring Farmall tractors after he takes them apart bolt by bolt, cleans every tiny little part, then puts it back together. He keeps his truck that proficient the same way. Its a 1995 Volvo. Now you know why I have so much free time. I love the guy for who his. He often asks me if him doing this is OK. I dragged him to Paris in 2001, and he was miserable. He loves what he does. How can I take that away from him.  |

Well, I have to go grocery shopping! Who'd ever thought 40 years ago I'd pay $108/mo to watch TV and do ALL my shopping at Walmart. I'll be back later so we elders can talk some more.

Ive been fine. My niece who is a personal trainer was going to come over tonight and help me out but the roads are so bad I told her not to come. Hg I don't even that could make me like football. |
