Why can’t you just say "Yahweh"? Why all this abbreviation stuff?

Krimsa... Jesus said," You MUST be born again." Jesus said, "NO man comes to the Father BUT BY ME." In other words....Salvation does NOT come, by trying to keep old jewish laws . Except those "Old Jewish Laws" were the word of God correct? That was a false God, or else he was over-thrown by Jesus. Yep, there must have been another war in heaven and Jesus over threw the God of the new testament. |

Was anyone going to try to answer that question? Mirror?

Well the question is simple really. How can one "disassociate" themselves form the OT? If you are Christian, that is the word of god. This is what I have never really been able to get a straight answer on. I have heard two explanations that make no sense. One is, that was "old Jewish law" and the other is, yes it was the word of god but only applied to Israel.
What the hell does that mean? |

Krimsa,I am somewhat uncomfortable explaining some aspects of my personal beliefs in a public forum because most of the people on here probably won't understand.

I expected as much.
What I would guess is the OT was the word of god, end of story. |

Im asking who's words were being spoken in the OT? Christians claim it is the word of God, but then they threw his "old laws" away in favor of a kinder gentler god with new laws of turning the other cheek. Back then, every alien or "fallen angel" that could glow or throw his voice or do some magic trick was a god. Eventually there were many who pretended to be gods or messengers of gods. Stories were told, people wrote about them. Even in this day and age people claim to know, see and talk to their god as if he walks in the flesh on the earth. Nobody takes them seriously really. But back then, they did. That is why there were so many gods. Everyone was called "Lord" who wielded power and influence over the people. A "Lord" is not necessarily a god, but it came to mean that. |

So was the "kinder, gentler god" the same god of the OT? He just lightened up a bit? How come he went from being a murderous, oppressive tyrant to being somewhat of a less murderous, oppressive tyrant? That doesn’t make any sense at all. Is there one god? Or is there two gods? It sounds as if people are attempting to make up explanations for why the god of the OT was an asshol- yet now we should take his word seriously because hes not longer an ass. |

Since no Christians are answering your questions, I can tell you the truth about it. The old God was a concept of the people of that time that they got from the false gods (Aliens, or Over-Lords, and Rulers like Ceaser, and the Pope.) who went around pretending to be "gods" or to be the spokesmen for God. The new God (Jesus) was a fiction created by the Roman elite to start a new religion that combined the old laws with the Pagans and with a kinder gentler god who would teach people to turn the other cheek and be conquered and controlled by the church leaders easier. None of these concepts of god are anything more than fiction. |

Krimsa, Xian was grafted onto Judism; they are two different things. They use YVWH or g-d, as they feel that they are no worthy or it is inappropriate to write or say the name as it may demean its purity. If Jesus says that he came not to alter one word of the torah and Paul basicly says Jesus abregated the torah. Who do you think founded Xianity? It is a missmosh, hopefully it will help some people and make a few others better people. Isn't that the history of the faith... ohh yeah I forgot, crusades, witch burning, religious wars, murdering abortion doctors, oh well good on the bright side...
