No, I wouldn't wait a year. Niether would I "do you" and "then LETS SEE if a relationship GROWS from THAT." If I just "do you" without knowing you, there would be no tomorrow. I would want to have mulitple dates with the person before "doing it."

I would wait two months at the most, especially if it were an exclusive relationship.

I doubt it a year seems like a bit too much. I could see waiting 2-3 months
