Topic: OK, so what is going on here? | |
---|---|
Got half the lawn mowed, took a break, now mower will start, but
sputters and dies. Took off the air filter and, so long as I keep tapping my hand over the hole, the engine will run just fine. When I remove my hand altogether, it'll run for a few seconds or so, then dies. Is there like not a proper air/fuel mix going on here, or what? I cleaned out whatever lines I could. I hope I don't have to do a whole carbureator overhaul. Anyone know of any quick fixes? I've decided I'm not buying those Murray $100/$125 mowers anymore; they're not worth the hassle. |

if you have some rubbing achole put about an 1/8 of the tank with it and
the rest with freash gas that will help clean the varnish out of the carb and cyclenders |

If I left it to a man to do, my grass would be about a thousand feet
high. I enjoy mowing and doing landscaping and all of that. It's what helps keep me in shape. It would be nice to have a man around to do the heavier work, though...not only that, he could service my lawnmower, and then service me! What "pretty little nails?" Sheesh! That's too high-maintenance for me. The only thing I have to do is make sure to wear gloves cuz A) I'm allergic to metal and the lawnmower handle makes my hands itch like crazy and 2) I hate the feeling of dirt under my fingernails. I don't care if my hands get dirty as hell, but not under my nails! Eeee! Thanks, sxpak! I appreciate your help. Hope nothing blows up. LOL |

I have a nice Murray mower that cost about 125 or so. You can have it if
you want, but I think it probably needs a carburetor overhaul. |
|
|
|
Carb. overhaul ain't that expensive on them lil two bit lawnmowers....
Is your airfilter clean? How about your spark plug? |
|
|
|
ok,but what would you compare it tooo?

Oh and I won't pay to have something done I can do for myself, but I
want to finish the yard NOW..not later. Such a hassle; I've got other things I need to be doing, too. |
