Did you raise and shuck that canned corn? Did you raise that cane sugar??
Just kidding!! I roasted a whole chicken, just picked it apart. Gave the gizzards to the cats. Now the carcass is in a pot with veggies and herbs in order to make a chicken stock for Jewish penicillin. I'm going to give my kiddo barbacue'd wings and drumettes, serve the legs to her with just the spices, use the breast with chicken gravy and home made mashed potatos. |

this thred of cooking can get good it looks like. ive got over 100 good recipies. an theres plenty lookin for a guine pig. evil
try grape jelly ketchup an chili sauce. wat u do with this is simmer lil smokys in it. after a half hour put a tooth pik in them n put them on a decorative plate n uve just made a party snack. the leftover sauce makes a good chip dip. |

Please, when I was growing up, my mother didn't believe in anything out of a bag, box, can or freezer unless she cooked/prepared/picked it herself. There were very few exceptions. I didn't know there were shortcuts out there until I went off to college. Now, I mostly cook from scratch, but use pre-prepared for convenience.

my mother and , grandmother cooked everything fresh. (I would go out a get the fresh garden vegies, & when my mother would say; "chicken for sundays lunch"i would snap the chickens head off, and let the blood drain--and pluck feathers.)
