Topic: Your child is smoking pot | |
---|---|
Young people need to let their synapse and all that finish developing and they should get their education out of the way first or they never will. Pot seems to diminish any thoughts of getting up to do much of anything besides going to the kitchen for a snack.

However, pot develops their artistic ability said my old boyfriend G. Garza in Tx. course he would not like his sons to hear this..... ya gotta drink alcohol along with it..... |

I found out my child was smoking pot about a year and a half ago and suffice it to say it has been the worst time of my life. It leads to other things and ... It doesn't lead to other things, there is no proof to that statement. With the same statement we can also say that Tyenol or the likes is the gateway drug, because that is usually what people do first. You have the internet at your fingertips and still you can't cross-check your points... |

well to the F and L man;;;;
phittttttttttt u have the internet at your fingertips also young man, and so u need to do some research 2.... parents that have kids that smoke pot know a little of what they r talking about...however, each case is different... it is not the first time i have heard that pot leads to other things....but what...pot can lead to other drugs, alcohol, more creativity, burning up brain cells and the likes.. Tylenol a gateway drug...well could be.... |

Tylenol a gateway drug...well could be.... Cite your reference, here I'll cite a few: http://www.druglibrary.org/Schaffer/library/mjgate.htm -by John P. Morgan, M.D. and Lynn Zimmer, Ph.D. http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/#gateway -A few cited studies. What this all sums up to is this, the gateway drug theory is in its own words saying that the first drug you do (marijuana) will lead to other drugs (cocaine, meth, etc.). What the gateway drug theory doesn't do, is apply any science to the means of this "discovery" in reality all it does is take a few studies, changes some numbers, and says that 'marijuana leads to harder drugs' without any proof of the statement. Also the theory doesn't take into account other drugs such as but not limited too, Dimetapp, Tyenol, or cough syrup (all of these being drugs that I can guarantee people did before trying marijuana). Now with how loose the gateway drug theory is, by logic, the above references would in fact be the gateway drug. Next time you want to try and outsmart someone make sure you have facts to do it with, as well don't try and outsmart someone who has studied the subject a lot longer than you have. |

A problem I have with that is that 99.9% of the population has taken Tylenol, etc. So, yes, of course, that will be the first thing that someone has used. It's the first thing that almost everyone has used. Also, people don't just suddenly start doing heroin, meth, crack, etc. and never have touched pot. |

Meth is used in a lot of older diet pills, and still is in use today (amphetamine). Used in a lot of ADD and ADHD pills, ADD and ADHD was an epidemic in the late 90's. Adderall was a popular ADHD prescription, and at that point in medicine you didn't even have to really get checked out for it (I was diagnosed with ADHD at 14, no screening process or checkup). |

You just found out that your child is smoking pot. What do you do? I carefully explain the various strains and and effects, their are countless strains mind you, then proceed to explain the importance of digesting as opposed to smoking. One can only get so high smoking as apposed to eating, their is no limit you will get higher and higher and higher if digestion is the method used for comsumption. If digested be it drinking or eating the effects are increased and the nasty soot that is usually inhaled is avoided. |

Haha I like how you didnt say anything about the strains So I wont either The effects are not necessarily caused by consumption, but rather the prcoess in cooking which results in more concentrated amounts of THC per item, where as smoking moves it almost directly into your system. With smoking, you are adding combusted plant matter along with a heat that is not healthy nor comfortable. Causing coughing adds to blood rush to brain along with lack of oxygen which will indeed speed things up, or just exercise. Only a small amount is required (as its almost immediately processed) opposed to whats needed for an dish or drink (taking up to 1-2 hours to fully process). The process itself is tedious, although fascinating and absolutely healthiest form. |

well if pot clammed me down, i'd smoke it 2....read on...
for further FYI stuff well, back in my youth, i did just that and this is what happened... in the morning, i woke up, and could remember nada. what came out of my nose was yellow. and further more, i stunk like a banshee...skunk was more like it.... then, someone had greased me down with baby oil, and i could not even put on my shoes. furthermore, if there was any kind of SEX, i could not remember it, because i had a violent headache. so what is the good of relating this experience????/ i have never done it again, and maxine would agree this was a good thing...well martha stewart would say that 2.... |

Try to show and explain how smoking pot can keep them from being successful. Drug testing is very important with most companies these days. If you fail the drug test it's over. For a young person it may be best to introduce the scared tact. You may want to read something so fast to them and asking them to give you the main topic of what you read. This could help you prove short term memory loss, if you do it when they are not high.
Either way, good luck as a parent it's easy for us to blame ourselves for our kid’s short coming. Hopefully, this is just a phase at six years old. |
