Maybe if they had near human intelligence but my electric can opener and me are on nonspeaking terms right now. I tried to vent with it but it just wouldn't work no matter what I did. I just wanted to take it by the end of the cord and whirl it around but just opted to throw it in the trash. I may have been unfaithful to my electric can opener but I have replaced it with a mechanical one. I mean it wouldn't even give a reason why it wouldn't work. I just kept slamming the top on of the can and no matter what I did it just didn't matter. My electric can opener has some real issues. It didn't communicate and I just got where I couldn't trust it any more. I ended the relationship when I through it in the trash.

Blade Runner, one of my favorite movies, addresses this. Right. Thats one of my all time favorites. The "Replicants". Its an ethical issue also. If they are designed to be like people in most all ways, then what rights do they have?
