Yes I think so. I think most parents leave education up to the government. I think it's a parental responsability & the public schools are just one tool you have. I always supplemented what she was learning with newspapers, books, magazines & daytrips. The computer too when we got internet access. This was my understanding of the situation today. Very few parents are actually taking control. Most, simply present the excuse and blame the schools, like schools supposed to work in their favor and yet, they don't. Whis is the root of my somewhat "pessimistic" attitude. Since we have a 'practical' democracy, the opinion of minority that actually know what is right, does not matter. We can be sure that our majority will make the worst possible choice. I volunteered in my daughters classroom in elementary school. I was active in PTA , Bandboosters & 4-H. I found that most teachers had their hands full with just maintaining control. The kids were not getting basic manners & disapline at home, they simply were not ready to learn accademics. Few parents had any interest in what their kids were being taught, they took the school for granted & saw it mostly as free baby sitting. Those of us who were interested were met with frustrated & defensive teachers. |

I only know one other couple that takes care as you do. They both make very little money but struggle and yet pay for their son to go to private school, where there is discipline and grading by the strongest student.
Teachers will not help. Most of them can't teach, they would be unemployed if it was a private system. |

You don't know me very well, so you wouldn't know that I have plenty of answers- I'm not used to being asked, usually I get told to mind my own business and keep my nose out. [or something along those lines] I'm Scottish, living in Scotland. Lets start with political revolution then; the American political procedure needs a complete overhaul from the ground up, Ron Paul has come up with the best suggestions so far, imho. My advice would be to let Americans have more say in who actually gets to run for POTUS in the first place. Two things...I suggested we have a coup by voting out EVERY incumbant. That would have sent a LOUD message to DC...but no! Some people just can't vote for the other guy. The second is there were many people running on both sides. Unfortunately most people don't tune in until the last minute. They don't vote in primaries & therfore lose out on other choices. That's a big problem..apathy. Yet the so called look down your nose independants won't even bother to register with the party of the person of their choice so they can have a say in the primaries. Then want to complain about it after the fact. People are so stupid. I have my doubts about them smartening up any time soon. |

some of you sound as though you are ready and willing to sit back and watch the demise..yes you can lead by example but leadership does not mean control..it means guiding and aiding those to join as one within the same cause... a voice
if we cannot work together nothing can be accomplished |

Nothing can be done. We have a democracy. Majority is educated by government. They won't vote against the government. I thought you 'had' a republic, not a democracy? It is a republic...representive of the demographics of the nation by states. |

I don't see anything happening as long as the people are so divided. It use to not be like this. (sad) So much for rallying people behind something. All you can do is what you can in the micro & give the macro to the good Lord. There are plenty of opportunities for those who don't give into fear or hopelessness. |

Yeah.. I probably know more about U.S. politics than your average American.
Not sure how that happened. |

I've chosen what I will rally behind. Thats Freedom and Liberty for all.
The Revolution has got to be one that leads us to elect leaders that will obey their oath of office, which is to defend and preserve the Constitution of the United States. A return to Constitutional rule will solve many of the ills effecting this nation. |

Revolution may indeed be necessary as we are quickly becoming a police state. However, I don't think the people will be moved unless there is an alternative and until they believe there is no hope of redeeming a country, or a world enslaved by a monetary economic system.
Here's an opportunity to view the ideas and the plans to implement a new world order. Gear up now, because the internet is in danger of being censored by the powers that don't want you to know of the possibilites outside their own views. http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ Watch the movie on the right first (Zeitgeist-The Movie) Then watch (Zeitgeist-Addendum) Please don't be offended by Zeitgeist, watch it with an open mind, to the end because there are important things you need to be clear about when you get to the end. After the film, when you're ready, go to http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/ Click on "In English" Check the web site out and give a listen to the verbal interviews with Jacque Fresco. This too takes a while. |

Well, my dear revolutionaries, this isn't Iran or Russia.
Majority doesn't think there is a problem that requires revolution. So, are you then is going to assume the wisdom and literally force the majority to your way of a nation construct? Ultimately, you can't even return to a constitutional republic, if majority doesn't think they shouldn't be ruled by a constitution is this day and age. Are you going to shot at your fellow citizens? This is just not an American way. Either, there will be no revolution, because majority are either on payroll or too stupid; Or then the revolution is going to be un-American because it is going to be against of the will of the people. If you're willing to force others to your way, then how is it you are any different from any other dictator? |

I see positive change in Americas way of thinking Agreed.. in fact a world-wide awakening has been underway for some time now. Will enough people awaken in time to stop the world tipping over the edge? I hope so.. ~ Peace |
