Finding The Internal Riches
Why hast thou been forlorn, Alone and abiding in time That stands still To this day? Doest thou not know The many gifts That the present may bring Or the blessings that are bare Upon thine tears? All that I have bore upon mine shoulders To this day are darkness and greed And many have spoken upon the winds To my disenchantenment. The paths through the squandered wastes And ravages of time have brought me naught but guilt and shame As seen by the flock. Yet I live, Though to many, Indignant. Hast thine mind been closed To these hidden gifts that I may share? Oh how far we must fall To achieve the graces of others, For their sakes. Yet I admit at times I stand alone and condemned. Never yet have I felt so alone Within the confines of mine keep, For I am and have been A seeker of hearts and promise. Alone is but a word Transformed into a feeling of hopelessness, A guide into the inverness canyons Of one's internal barren wastes. It is to these souls I call out and speak For they cannot see... Else they would wash their own indignations From themselves and rise again. Yet to many, I seem myself Lost Eternally. Look not for the present Nor toward the future For both can most certainly Bring sadness and shame. I say look inside Where thine lonesome heart lies, For here is where you may find The greatest of treasure and power Anyone may receive. Yet here is where life begins From that tiny spark within And with each new heart, Inward in which you bring New hope and prosperity. Where thou art rich The tyrants cast you down Yet thou hast power Where these mighty tyrants drown. My friend, be thou not discouraged. For thine place is kept in mine heart That you may live. Prepare thineself for your uplifting And find within thineself The wastes Now filled lush and green. It is here that ye may find your presents Even treasures of what many Have come to call FAMILY. A new spirit? No, I think not. One who has undergone a metamorphosis from faded to integrated, shining brighter and stronger to encompass more in warm and loving light.
