Gee nice to see how the bail-out is being spent.
Former Merrill Lynch executive pays 37 million for NYC apartment (with taxpayer money) by nyceve Tue Dec 30, 2008 at 07:54:24 AM PST This is a little off the beaten track for me, but it is a very real example of how taxpayer money is being spent wasted on bailouts for failed executives. It's particularly important to publicize this sort of wretched excess, known as the privatization of profits and socialization of loss, as we approach the opening of the 111th Congress and the battle for affordable and guaranteed healthcare for all Americans goes into high gear. As sure as night follows day, we will hear some many say, the United States can't afford to provide healthcare to all our citizens. When this deceit gets going, please remember that a huge amount of taxpayer money is raining on people like Peter Kraus--no questions asked. This is 720 Park Avenue in New York City. It's one of the most expensive buildings in Manhattan. Peter Kraus and his wife Jill, just paid $37 million for an apartment in this building. This year, Peter Kraus received a payout of $25 million dollars for working at Merrill Lynch for just three months. |

USE IT TO BAIL OUT THE DETROIT LIONS....... I'm not too much of a Football fan, but as far as the Lions goes.. they need a whole new company to run them instead of the ford company I think it is could be wrong, but who ever runs them.. need's to be let go and bought out and have a whole new management team come in and run them etc. As far as Bail out's goes, they should have given that being the money.. all back to the hard working low income middle classic people of america. I mean if you give the low income earns and middle classic if not both groups of people the money it would help turn every thing around. I mean people would be able to pay off there bills, pay off there housing and debts etc, I think that is what should have happened but didn't. |

I am not so sure.
I have no debts. No bills that I am struggling to pay. I pay hell in taxes. Why my tax money should be spent bailing out someone with debts, bills that he had acquired without any regard to own income level? Bank or poor, Executives or Automakers, I don't want to pay for anyone. Whoever made a mistake shall go down and learn from it. It is a fallacy to assume that my life would be worse if a bank goes bankrupt. Who cares? We have too many bankers and not enough cleaning ladies. |

I agree that we don't have enough cleaning ladies, the wages are barely enough to pay rent much less buy food.
