Full Moon - Cold Moon
Saturday January 10, 2009 All Day Notes: Full Moon 10:27 pm EST COLD MOON: This Full Moon occurs between December and January in the sign of Capricorn. The theme for this moon is “Joy.” Winter is at its strongest point and is about to loosen its hold on the world, allowing us to return to a warmer, kinder time. Throughout Winter, it was often unknown who would survive and who would not. At a time when there was no central heat and when animals often became desperate in their search for food, danger ran high. Those who were not attuned to the cycles could suffer from “cabin fever” as they react to the limitations of movement created by cold, ice and snow. Livestock were vulnerable to the elements and sometimes, a sense of urgency for survival would develop around this time if the stockpiles from the harvest were beginning to dwindle. Reaching this Full Moon was a turning point that brought with it an assurance that warmer times were on the way. December gave us a heartwarming time to spend with friends and loved ones, being reminded of their value in our lives and sharing gifts as tokens of our affection. Coming from the glow of that familial closeness, our spirits are heartened and we feel our own inherent strength move within us, preparing us for the physical work that is to come. The Joy of the Cold Moon takes us through our time of “The Spark” and allows us to awaken within ourselves the dreams of a new life that will come in the fall with harvest and gives shape to our goals for the coming year. The full moon tomorrow night is supposed to be like the December full
moon in that it will be the biggest, brightest moon of 2009. December's full moon was the biggest and brightest full moon of 2008. |

Thanks for the reminder Ruth. I have some crystals I want to charge. Unfortuantely the weather in my area is overcast and it appears that it will be overcast for quite some time.
So I'll have to wait for clearer weather. I was also thinking about putting the crystals under glass in case of rain or snow. They are selenite crystals and shouldn't be exposed to water. I wonder also if there are other ways to charge crystals? These selenite crystals are supposed to be good for helping with lucid dreams and shamanic journeying, but thus far I'm not getting anything from them. It's like they have been totally grounded. I've even done "crystal meditations" with them and I get nothing. So I'm thinking that maybe if I charge them I might start to get something from them. |

There are charging chants you can do just by holding them in your hands. In fact I thought that was the normal process for charging crystals and gems. Then you can always renew using that same chant any time you want. Thats only my understanding. |

Then you can always renew using that same chant any time you want. Thats only my understanding. I do understand this concept of charging cystals with your own energy and intent. However, it seems to me that this would be kind of 'circular' in this particular case. The reason being that I'm hoping to use these crystals to stimulate shamanic journeys and lucid dreams. So charging them with my own energy seems kind of redundant. This is just my own intuitive feelings of course. I just have an intuitive feeling that they need to be charged with elemental energy (sunshine or moonshine) ![]() ![]() ![]() I guess I could pour some moonshine over them and see if that works. ![]() Or maybe just drinking it would have a better effect. ![]() But no, seriously, I just feel like they need to be charged by the elements. But I'm wondering if they can be charged by candlelight (i.e. Fire). Typically water and earth ground things, although not always. Putting them in a breeze too could bring airy wisdom to them. I could try charging with with candlelight in a small breeze next to a window that is just cracked open. I think fire and air would be good elements to charge them with. That would be very similar to putting them outside in sunlight and moonlight in the air. Maybe owl try the candle charging. |

Not having weather issues here in California for the most part, I had never thought of this. I think your idea is a good one, James. I'd like to hear how it goes. |

Yes I like the fire and wind idea. That sounds good. However you decide to do it, just go with what feels best.

Crystal Charging
Well, I've been charging my crystals today with candlelight and fresh air. I turned them sideways to take the picture so you can see the quartz wand between themm, but I have them turned so that the candles are actually on either side of the quartz wand. I wanted to charge the quartz wand too and when I went to set it on the pedestal it just wanted to sit in between these selenite towers. So I put it between them with a point touching each of them. Somehow I felt that this will connect the two selenite crystals. Then when I put the candles in place I could actually see light streaming into the selenite crystals through the points of the wand. Kind of amazing actually. I put three Amthyest cyrstals on either side of the wand too. I'm planning on making those into a wand with the quartz wand tip. In any case, this 'feels right'. ![]() The pedestal I'm using is an 8" diameter telescope mirror blank. It's kind of cool being an ex-scientist and having this kind of stuff laying around. ![]() Science and witchcraft meld together quite well. ![]() |

No, I'll tell you what is scary. I just went into the GR forums for a minute. Why do I do that? I just peeked at one thread on how all the evil people in the world worship Satan.
![]() Now, I have to meditate for an hour just to calm down!!! ![]() |

Thats a beautiful photo James! The candle lighting is just perfect on the crystal.
GR has been out of control lately. It seems like its getting worse. People just jump to conclusions based on their own fears that they project onto others. I am really not surprised that the Burning Times took place at all based on some of these behaviors. |

I am really not surprised that the Burning Times took place at all based on some of these behaviors. Quite honestly, neither am I. |

People just jump to conclusions based on their own fears that they project onto others. They are just totally driven by fear. ![]() I can't help but laugh because it truly is humorous. I mean they just drive themselves to the edge of a nervous breakdown over "religion". Yet religion is supposed to bring a person peace. ![]() It's utterly insane is all I can say. I almost get tired of saying that, but that's precisely what it is. If they truly believe that Jesus beat the devil when he was crucified, then what's their problem? ![]() They act like Satan has the upper hand and that there is a real problem that even God himself can't handle. The virtually have no faith in God at all. None. Not the slightest inkling of faith. I'm totally at peace. I trust that God has everything under control. She wouldn't have been so stupid as to create a universe that she couldn't control. ![]() Christians think God is an idiot who shot himself in the foot! Seriously, their religion has gotten so totally out of control that even they have no faith that God can do anything about it. It's utterly insane. I'm totally happy with reality. Drop a bomb on my house. I don't care because I know that death is an illusion. Let a Christian be threatened by death and their go into convulsions. They have absolutely no trust in God whatsoever. As they walk through the valley of the shadow of death they fear all evil because the Lord is not with them. They have no faith in the "Lord" at all. I have more faith in Jesus as a mortal man than they have in him proclaiming that he might have been the son of the God of Abraham. Either they don't trust Jesus, or they don't trust the God of Abraham (can't blame that for that one!), or they truly don't believe what they've been taught and they're just in a panic about it in the hope that someone else can save them. Personally I think it's the latter that is truly eating away at them. I'm going to grab a bite to eat. I'm hungry. |

Sometimes I view the GR Forum as a microcosm for human behavior when it comes to religion. Its obviously the most argumentative and angry forum on this website. Its been dubbed "The War Room" by admin because they are constantly banning and having to admonish people and delete posts.
If thats one small example of how infuriating it becomes for people only just online than its no wonder that so many have died in "holy wars". |

Truly.
And what is the war always about? People are trying to shove the idea that some stupid Mediterranean mythology represents the desires and needs of the creator of this universe. It's insane. What more can I say. How anyone can believe that the creator of this universe could be as stupid as the people who wrote the godforsaken book is beyond me. It's a book of bigotry and hatred. Even Jesus denounced it, and now they use him as a dead marionette doll to prop up the very mythology that he denounced. It's nothing but hate, hate, hate, all in the name of God. |

I found it interesting to learn that many of the early Christians did not believe that the god of the OT was the true god. What they believed was that the god Jesus referred to was the true god and that is not the same god as the god of the OT.
