Topic: Mutual Match with nadda to look at | |
---|---|
Regardless of the fact that I'm repeating myself yet again (because, apparently, the words have gone unheeded many times before), I shall offer this advice: Don't come onto this site with the mindset of looking for a potential relationship. Make friends first. Without being friends with someone first, a relationship will mean absolutely d!ck. Amen to that. Internet dating adds an extra yet important step in starting relationships. You have to get to know somebody first. |

Q1: Click No because ... it's common sense not to say yes to a cartoon or car. Q2: Yes and Maybe are the same perdy much yeah thats it do not read the profile that would make to much sense. base everything on their looks. did some one mention shallow? when your picture shows up somewhere you did not put it; you will understand why some do not have a public picture of themself |

I think the mutual match is just a way for the mingle site to think they are helping you find a match. It does not do anything for you if you are not willing to say hi or talk to whoever is eventually made your mutual match by yours or the other parties random click of "yes" or "maybe". I don't know about other people but in my experience with mutual match... I get messages saying someone wants to mutual match... then you look at several pictures and profiles like a slide show. Maybe you pick one, two, or none. Then later you get a message saying you have a new mutual match connection. Woo hoo... so now what? Do I contact them... or do I wait for them to contact me? Either way its a total crap shoot... its easier for them to just click ..then to actually say "hi" And if you finally decide to just go for it and be the first to say "hi" they don't answer back anyways... so a lot of thought wasted on making or not making a mutual match...LOL I have more success just making conversation with people who check out my profile and contacting them back then from any mutual match ever made....

I dont know where this topic goes so I am putting it here. So, I am clicking on the mutual match thing you guys got going here. Here's what I dont get. Many of the guys have pictures of cars or cartoons and not much else in the way of pictures. These same guys have nothing written down in their profile blogs. Now how am I suppose to know if I am a mutual match if there is nothing to see or read? Am I suppose to mutual match myself with just a picture of a car or a cartoon? This is not unusual. About 97% of all my MM candidates have profiles that are either empty or might as well be. "I don't know what to write here" doesn't inspire me to contact someone. I see a lot of profiles of pics with more than one person where they never bother to tell you which one the profile actually belongs to. OK, let's play "Guess the Person." No thank you. |

I see too many pictures of guys showing me their underwear. I have decided to ignore the mutual match function because I dont get the point of it. Especially since it supposedly randomizes the guys who said yes with just random guys from nowhere. I want to know if I am answering a guy who said yes to me as a match before I give him my mutual match answer. So if I dont click any of the answers then what do the guys see as my answer? If they see nothing isn't that the same they see if I click no? |

I see too many pictures of guys showing me their underwear. Yeah, that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about them. I have decided to ignore the mutual match function because I dont get the point of it. Especially since it supposedly randomizes the guys who said yes with just random guys from nowhere. I want to know if I am answering a guy who said yes to me as a match before I give him my mutual match answer. Well, it takes people who fit into your search settings and shows them to you. The idea being that since they already fit into your search settings, there is some basis for assuming a potential mutual interest. That's not always the case, of course! Now, if you see someone in your MM candidates who is from OUTSIDE your search settings, then that person has already given you a YES or MAYBE -- because that's the only way someone from outside your settings can show up on your list. I personally enjoy MM because I can read hundreds of lame and vapid profiles in a minute or two. God forbid anyone put any actual effort into writing about themselves. So if I dont click any of the answers then what do the guys see as my answer? If they see nothing isn't that the same they see if I click no? No, if you don't click anything, they just stay in the "pool." They're "pending," I guess you could call it. They'll never know you even saw them (particularly since they would have no way of knowing what your search parameters are set at). |

ok thanks for all the answers (addressing the guy above me).
I like just using the regular search function. Its better now that I learned I can turn off the function where it shows the guys I am looking at them. Before I turned it off many of the guys I would look at would send me a message. Every time I went looking around my mailbox would explode. I'll eventually learn the ends and outs of the place. |

Go to your settings and check the Stealth Mode. This allows you to peek at other peoples profiles and they won't know that you were checking them out. If it looks interesting, go can go 'perv' their profile out of Stealth Mode. That might help you avoid a lot of email too.
