I went through that a few years ago with my grandfather. The first time I saw him in the nursing home, I bawled all the way home. That wasn't the way he wanted to live.

This time of year is especially hard - we live right next to where he lived before going in a nursing home and his birthday is just a few days away.

Christmas just hasn't been the same since my two grandfathers passed away.
