There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.

How would someone effectively kill either 300 or 800 men with one blow of their sword anyway? huh

Now that is what I was trying to picture. How do you kill 800 people "at one time" unless you have explosives?

I'm trying to picture this.

Okay I've got it!

They put the 800 people in a giant net and suspended them above a pit of lions and/or a pit with spears embedded into the ground pointing upwards and with one swipe of his sword, he cut the rope that held the giant net.

That still had to be a strong rope to hold 800 people and cutting a rope like that does not seem like a piece of cake either.

How about this:

Being the captain, he commanded many soldiers and by the waving of his sword he gave the order for his troops to slaughter the 800 people.

Anybody else have any ideas?

Or maybe the translation of "at one time" simply meant "in one particular battle." I think that makes the most sense.

Any thoughts on this?

Does anyone ever think about these things or do you just take the word literally and believe that one man killed 800 people "all at one time."

I am interested in how Christians envision this kind of thing happening in real life.

Certainly reason and logic can’t win out.

There are many who were called "Lord." I guess I am not sure what "Lord" you are talking about when you say things like this.

Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you will find knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened

Its probably pretty easy to lure blind and lame people into nets so maybe that is how he did it? huh

I keep knocking on your mind and it hasn't opened yet.

Oh is that a fact?

Jesus thanks God that only the ignorant and foolish will listen to him.

Luke 10

10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Gold there is and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.

Lips that are capable of speaking their OWN words and original thoughts would also seem pretty rare. happy
