Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other's borders during an emergency, but some are questioning why the Harper government has kept silent on the deal.

We have borders so it keeps US out. lol well all kidding aside you missed the point the govt is not permitted to use federal troops to control the civilian population. what this scenario permits is that they could use canadian military to do the things that the federal troops are not permitted to do. thus if the people get fed up and try to make changes (regardless of how they do it (it takes an act of congress to use the us military to use u s military) but to use canadian military (with this agreement) would (in the simple version) would basically only take a phone call. remember the political conventions this year -- was pretty bad to stomp peoples rights like that -- well can you imagine bringing in a military force to do it |

There's a pretty funny movie about about a Canadian/US conflict called Canadian Bacon with John Candy, Rhea Perlman and Alan Alda.
Oh and Gio there's a small appearance by Steven Wright in to too. |
